The Culture at Clock

3 July 2023
Clock has a strong ethos that is reflected in our manifesto, a set of fundamental beliefs that represent who we are and what we stand for. They are at the heart of Clock.

Quite simply, no matter what the situation, always be respectful of any member of the team, client or partner.

In anything we do, from design to user experience, front-end or back-end coding, mastering our craft is vital in ensuring our ability to continually deliver outstanding digital experiences for our clients and their users.

A lack of curiosity leads to a lack of innovation. Clock would not still be here after two decades, were it not for an insatiable appetite to try and test new technologies, new design trends, UX techniques or project-management methodologies. Curiosity keeps us from stagnating.

Attention to detail and beauty is not just something that is reflected in the user-facing elements of the applications that we build. Just as much attention to detail is put into the quality of the coding and parts of a project that are not necessarily seen by everyone.

When digital is done simply it can feel like the easiest thing in the world. When it is done badly, it can feel onerous. We aim to make every element of an application simple, from the design, to the user experience and the workflows of editors.

If something is worth doing, it should create value. We will question whether adding a particular piece of functionality adds value in the grand scheme of a project. Our aim is to deliver value and ultimately, return on investment, on every piece of work we undertake.

Trust is an essential part of every relationship, be it personal or professional. Truly successful projects are based around trust and the ability for all parties to bring their knowledge and expertise to the table.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, loving what you do is the best way for any piece of work to be successful. We are passionate about everything we do and that is reflected in all our projects, whether they are small-scale brochure sites or large scale, multilingual applications.
