Clock designed and built “Click & Collect” in 2016 - SwipeStation’s award winning product specifically designed for crowds to help solve queue busting problems across the UK. The popular mobile app solution is available to use across a number of independent clubs and venues including Championship Football team AFC Bournemouth and Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, used by over 12,000 customers with over 27k successful transactions, and was shortlisted in the 2021 Sports Technology Awards for the 'Best Operations, Commerce and Event Technology'.
Whilst live sporting events were being played behind closed doors, SwipeStation quickly realised that key considerations would need to be taken into account to ensure a safe return for fans to watch their beloved sport.
As a result of the global pandemic, usage of mobile payment exploded across the world. With SwipeStation perfectly placed to dominate this market, they took the opportunity to create a crowdfunding campaign inviting investors to join their venture in expanding the business to help stadia and other mass gatherings reopen safely and profitably.
Having placed their trust in Clock for the last 5 years as their development partner, we were tasked with the design and build of Stand & Deliver - a new In-Seat Delivery service.
Making it easier than ever to place a cashless mobile order from the comfort of their seat and limiting contact with others, customers are able to select their refreshments from multiple kiosk menus and enter their seat information for a smooth checkout. With the app recognising order history, there is no need to repeat entry of your seat location or favourite snacks as they will be pre-populated for future orders.
Customers also have a choice of time slots for their order to be delivered ahead of the event, at half-time or after the event. The SwipeStation team and venue managers can set these timeframes in their custom CMS according to capacity and demand, allowing staff to control tickets and fulfil orders to schedule.
The new app functionality puts SwipeStation at the forefront of a very competitive market, now more so than ever, with a slick and simple user-friendly solution that sports and entertainment venues can take advantage of.
The Covid challenge has impacted everyone in different ways. At SwipeStation we were determined to adapt and come out of it stronger – and one of the benefits of the pandemic is that public adoption of mobile ordering has been transformed almost overnight. So we realised that we had an opportunity to build on the existing Click & Collect service and implement a deliver-to-seat option (Stand & Deliver®) into the app that could help in the short term as well be useful for hospitality and people with disabilities in the long term.
The team at Clock understand our business and were able to further develop the existing app to have this added functionality and make it easy for fans to get their orders straight away. The design is backed up by solid technology and reporting that makes it invaluable to the clubs we work with.” Adam King, CEO of SwipeStation.
Stand & Deliver will be available at selected SwipeStation venues in time for when the Sports 2021/22 Season arrives. Get in touch if you would like to know more.
