Working closely with the editorial team at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Clock developed and built a brand-new destination site for the RIBA Journal. Created to tie in with RIBA’s redesigned monthly journal, the new site translates its editorial vision into an online platform that is rich in content, interaction and user engagement. Building upon the print presence by broadening both editorial content and industry insight, the site enhances RIBA Journal’s position as Britain's most influential architecture magazine.
The fully responsive website showcases new, innovative content alongside editorial and pictorial archives. Its refined typography and sleek arrangement of content complement the offline incarnation by graphic designer Matt Willey, creating a strong brand connection between print and digital, appealing to a design-savvy following and improving functionality all at the same time.
The new website was launched in July 2014. In its first week live, the site saw an increase in visits of 86% – including 66% in unique visits. Page views were up 204%, with the average visit duration up 150% and bounce rate down by 13%.
